5 best natural chews for puppies

Puppies chew things.

They’ll chew their toys and bed. Your furniture, footwear and fingers! Anything within their reach.

It’s totally normal puppy behaviour.

They explore the world with their mouths. Just like toddlers.

And they don’t know which items in your home aren’t for chewing or are potentially dangerous. Such as electric cables, a pair of glasses or the remote control.

Putting good management in place to prevent your puppy from chewing things you don’t want them to is your first port of call.

And providing legal chew items is your second.

This is especially important for teething puppies.

But, why opt for natural chews?

In this blog post we’ll share 5 of the best natural chews for puppies and why they’re key for your puppy’s health and happiness.

Puppy Biting Checklist

Why opt for natural puppy chews?

Natural chews for your puppy are a much healthier and safer option compared to others on the market.

Ang Ross from Raw Feeding Plus kindly shares her expertise, “natural chews will contain no additives, preservatives or chemicals. They are much easier to digest than processed treats, therefore much gentler on your puppy’s stomach. As there are no sugars, they’re great for keeping teeth sparkly”.

They’ll also help to;

  • relieve teething pain
  • settle your puppy at bedtime (or any other time)
  • provide mental stimulation

And will give your puppy an appropriate outlet for their normal behaviour, “doing what their gnashers are designed for” (Ang Ross, Raw Feeding Plus).

Boosting those feel good hormones.

Who doesn’t want a healthy, happy and contented puppy, right?

A huge thankyou to our featured expert Ang Ross from Raw Feeding Plus for sharing her knowledge and providing the list below. The companies were chosen by myself through reviews and research.

Ang’s store is well worth a visit if you live nearby (Morecambe) or fancy a day out at the seaside.

***Always supervise your puppy with their chew, make sure it’s age appropriate and have water nearby.

In no particular order…
